The star appeared in 'Transparent' in 2016 and multiple films and TV roles before she transitioned
Caitlyn Jenner has revealed she wants to play a Marvel villain in the future.
The star had a cameo in Transparent in 2016 and appeared on the big and small screen many times before she transitioned. As well as appearing in Murder, She Wrote, King Of The Hill, and The Hungover Games, Jenner had a recurring part in 1980s TV show CHiPS.
In a new interview with Variety, Jenner said her dream role would be in a comic book film. “In a Marvel movie, I want to play the baddest-ass lady you’ve ever seen in your life,” she said. “They got the wicked queen or the wicked lady. Just do the makeup and the outfit. And I got the deep voice.”
She also revealed she was a fan of The Danish Girl, which starred Eddie Redmayne as transgender artist Lili Elbe. The movie was controversial for having a cisgender actor play a transgender role, and Jenner said she had been warned against publicly discussing her views on the film.
“I thought it was good to have it out there,” she said. “GLAAD talked to me and said, ‘Don’t mention you even saw the movie!’ And then all the flak came down about Eddie Redmayne doing it. I went to the Vanity Fair Oscar party and I’m thinking, ‘What if he’s there? I can’t even be seen with him.’ That’s horrible!”
A representative from GLAAD told Variety the organisation had “shared concerns that transgender community members voiced about the film as a courtesy so that Caitlyn would be aware of them.”
Last year, Jenner criticised Donald Trump’s LGBTQ rights record since becoming the President of the United States. The trans activist and reality TV star said Trump had kind of disappointed me in the first 100 days” of his Presidency.
