Marvel is also planning a solo movie for Nick Fury

Captain America 2 is due to start shooting this year, it has been revealed.

In a busy year for Marvel Studios, Iron Man 3‘s start date has also been brought forward, before the release of The Avengers, which will see all of the stable of superheroes unite. Additionally, a solo outing for Nick Fury is in the works, according to ComicBook.com.

Neal McDonough, who plays Dum Dum Dugan, said: “They’re planning Captain America 2 for the end of this year, because Marvel does one film at a time. So they’re going to do Thor 2 and as soon as [that] has wrapped, they’ll do Captain America.”

He also revealed that Fury, the super-spy portrayed in the current series of films by Samuel L Jackson, will be getting his own movie. “Hopefully right after that, we’ll jump into Nick Fury, because that’s the one I’m looking forward to more than anything.”
