Here’s who speaks the most in ‘Avengers’ movies

One fan has studied all movies where the superhero squad appear together

The character who speaks the most in the Avengers movies has been revealed.

One fan counted how many lines each member of the superhero squad had in Avengers Assemble, Age Of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Infinity War.

The research looked at Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, The Hulk/Bruce Banner, Thor, and Hawkeye’s speaking parts, and concluded that Iron Man had the most. Graphs posted to Reddit show the character, played by Robert Downey Jr, had over 150 lines in all the films studied except for Infinity War.

“Iron Man is basically the main character in the [Marvel Cinematic Universe],” commented one Reddit user. Many other fans used the findings as proof that the character, whose civilian name is Tony Stark, “talks too much.” “What a surprise Tony talks a lot,” one said.

Avengers 4 will be the next film in the series and is set to hit screens in 2019. Although Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said the film will be a “finale” for the MCU, Disney CEO Bob Iger has suggested the Avengers movies could continue on after it.

“We meet on a regular basis with our Marvel team, and we’ve plotted out Marvel movies that will take us well into the next decade,” he said earlier this year. “I’m guessing we will try our hand at what I’ll call a new franchise beyond Avengers but that doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t see more Avengers down the road. We just haven’t made any announcements about that.”

Meanwhile, Marvel recently re-released all 20 titles in the MCU in IMAX cinemas to celebrate the universe’s 10th anniversary.

The MCU was launched on May 2, 2008, with the release of Iron Man. The film grossed $585 million (£448 million) at the box office upon release.
