The Disney reboot is coming next year...
The first trailer for the live-action Kim Possible movie has been released – check it out below.
The original TV version of Kim Possible aired on the Disney Channel from 2002-2007. It followed the teenage student Kim, who tried to balance high school life with crime-fighting and saving the world.
It was confirmed earlier this year that the show was being adapted for the big screen, with the original creators – Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley – penning the script.
After unveiling an image of actor Sadie Stanley as the titular character earlier this year, the first trailer has now been broadcast on the Disney Channel.
During the action-packed clip, Kim Possible is seen flying through the air and fighting various villains. Elsewhere, she is told off by her teacher for being late for class.
“So a few years ago I accidentally received a distress call,” the character says in the trailer. “I was done with my homework, so I answered it. Now, well, I save the world. Who am I? I’m Kim Possible”.
Although the clip confirms a 2019 release, no specific date has yet been announced.
Portraying Kim Possible’s mother, Dr Ann Possible, is Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, American Pie). The film will also feature Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs), who appears as Kim’s love interest and sidekick Ron Stoppable.
The upcoming live-action adaptation follows two animated Kim Possible movies – Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time (2003) and Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama (2005).
