We're trying to do the maths on that one.
Cher steals the show in the newest trailer for ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’, the sequel to 2008’s ‘Mamma Mia!’.
The trailer was aired during the Grammy Awards in the US, and shows the singer playing the glamorous grandmother of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and mother of Donna (Meryl Streep).
She arrives on the island to celebrate Sophie’s pregnancy with Sky (Dominic Cooper), to the shock of Sophie, who responds to her arrival with: “Grandma? You weren’t invited…”.
The trailer reveals that Cher will be singing ABBA classic, ‘Fernando’.
It was announced back in October that Cher would be joining the cast, which is her first big screen role in seven years.
She joins the likes of Meryl Streep, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan in the sequel to the 2008 adaptation of ABBA’s hit musical.
The first trailer was released in December, revealing that Lily James will be playing a younger version of Meryl Streep’s character in a series of flashbacks.
Previous trailers hint that Streep’s character Donna has passed away in the new film, with further hints in the latest trailer when Sophie says: “I’ve never felt closer to my mum” when revealing her pregnancy.
However, fans will have to wait and see when the film is released later in the year.
‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ is due for release in UK cinemas on July 20, 2018.
