Christian Bale offered part in ‘Oldboy’ remake

Plus four other offers for 'The Dark Knight Rises' star

Christian Bale is set to star in a host of upcoming films, including the remake of the hit Korean revenge flick, Oldboy.

By the time Christian Bale hangs up his Batcape at the end of shooting The Dark Knight Rises, it’s reported that he’ll have five offers from major Hollywood filmmakers to choose from.

According to Variety, the recent Oscar winner has been offered parts in Clint Eastwood‘s A Star Is Born, Michael Mann’s Gold and Out Of The Furnace by Crazy Heart director Scott Hooper.

Added to this list is the potential Darren Aronofsky team-up for the biblical epic Noah.

Remaking Oldboy has been an idea of Hollywood’s ever since the original release in 2003, with Will Smith and Steve Spielberg once attached.

Spike Lee is now firmly in the directors chair and, as reported by Variety, Bale has been offered the role of the revenge seeking villain who incarcerates the titular character for 15 years without an explanation.

Other than The Dark Knight Rises, Bale’s only other film due for release is The 13 Women of Nanjing from Hero and House of Flying Daggers director, Yimou Zhang.

The Dark Knight Rises is due for release on July 20, 2012. The 13 Women Of Nanjing has no UK release date confirmed.
