Christian Bale’s Moses parts the seas in new ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ trailer – watch

Ridley Scott's epic is released in cinemas December 26

Christian Bale’s Moses parts the seas in the new trailer for Ridley Scott’s epic Exodus: Gods and Kings. The latest film from the Gladiator director is released in cinemas December 26.

Bale (The Dark Knight) is Moses, the Egyptian leader who defied his brother, the Pharaoh Ramses, played by Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom).

The story follows the brothers’ conflict and the exodus of 600,000 slaves led by Moses on a monumental journey of escape from an Egypt tormented by deadly plagues.

Speaking about the film’s special effects and epic scale, Scott has revealed: ”I felt there was a beauty to the massive scale of the material… You’re working with at least 700 crew plus the 4,000 extras. And, of course, the armies will be expanded exponentially – 4,000 will be tiled and grown into 20,000.”

As reported, Scott has confirmed he is in talks with Harrison Ford for a sequel to Blade Runner and also working on a follow up to the 2012 Alien universe spin-off Prometheus.

The Gladiator director is currently in pre-production on his next film The Martian scheduled for release next year. It will star Matt Damon as an astronaut struggling to survive after being stranded on Mars.

Exodus: Gods and Kings also stars Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul, alongside Ben Kingsley and Sigourney Weaver. Watch the latest trailer below.
