Christopher Nolan casts Anne Hathaway in new sci-fi film ‘Interstellar’

She'll star opposite Matthew McConaughey in this ambitious-sounding time travel movie

Anne Hathaway is about to team up with Christopher Nolan again.

According to Deadline, the actress is “near a deal” to star opposite Matthew McConaughey in Nolan’s new sci-fi film Interstellar. McConaughey confirmed his role last week (April 4).

Interstellar is Nolan’s first project as director since last year’s The Dark Knight Rises, the concluding part of his Batman trilogy, which featured Hathaway as Catwoman. Hathaway has since gone on to win an Oscar for her performance in Les Misérables.

Interstellar has a script by his brother Jonathan Nolan, who also contributed to two of the Batman screenplays and the director’s 2006 thriller The Prestige. Plot details are being kept under wraps but Interstellar is said to involve time travel and alternate dimensions as it follows a group of explorers going through a “wormhole”.

At the moment, it’s not known when Christopher Nolan plans to start shooting Interstellar, but the film has already been given a release date of November 7, 2014.
