Director Matthew Vaughn's film is based on the popular comic book from the creator of 'Kick-Ass'
A new trailer for comic book movie Kingsman: The Secret Service has been released.
Directed by Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass), the film is based on the popular comic book co-created by Kick-Ass‘s Mark Millar. Vaughn co-wrote the film’s screenplay with his X-Men: First Class collaborator Jane Goldman.
Colin Firth stars as a veteran secret agent who recruits a rough-round-the-edges teenager, played by Taron Egerton, to join the secret spy organisation that gives the film its title. However, the new recruit is thrown in at the deep end when a global threat emerges from Samuel L Jackson’s evil tech genius.
The film’s supporting cast includes Michael Caine, Jack Davenport, Samantha Womack and Mark Strong. During production it was rumoured that Elton John, Lady Gaga, Adele and David Beckham had all filmed cameos, but none of these guest appearances has been confirmed.
Kingsman: The Secret Service will open in UK cinemas on January 29 before getting a US release a couple of weeks later on February 13.
