Daisy Ridley and Rian Johnson hint that filming on ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ to start soon

The actor and director have both made cryptic posts on social media

Daisy Ridley and Rian Johnson have hinted that timing on Star Wars: Episode VIII could start soon.

Both the actor and director posted images on social media that suggested work was about to begin on the follow-up to last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Posting on her Instagram page, Ridley captioned a photo of a bouquet of flowers with the hashtag #VIII. The picture also shows the top of a letter, with the numerals in bold.

According to Digital Spy, Johnson also made a similar cryptic post, but quickly deleted it.

The director’s post appeared on Tumblr, and was of Pinewood Studios accompanied by the caption “Getting close…”.

Ridley, who plays Rey in The Force Awakens, recently revealed that director JJ Abrams called her acting “wooden” on the first day of filming.

In an interview published in the January issue of Glamour, the actor said, “JJ… probably doesn’t remember telling me that my performance was wooden. This was the first day! And I honestly wanted to die.

“I thought I was gonna cry,” she continues. “I couldn’t breathe. And there was so many crew there, because obviously all the creatures [had stand-ins], and there were loads of extra crew making sure everyone was safe because it was so hot. It was awful.”
