Star also labels Tony Blair 'a little sketchy guy hanging out with George Bush'
Danny DeVito has offered his support to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, saying that he would make for a better Prime Minister than current incumbent David Cameron.
Speaking at a Motion Picture and Television Fund event in Los Angeles, DeVito told the Press Association: “I like the idea of people telling the truth. I like them to get to the bottom of things. In our government we have a lot of subterfuge. Now we’ve got the Panama thing. What is it? Why doesn’t anybody want to pay taxes and just fix the country and make everybody have a good life? It’s really crazy.”
Asked specifically about the Labour leader, DeVito said: “I think [Corbyn] would make a great PM. Way better than Cameron.”
The star went on to label former Prime Minister Tony Blair “a little sketchy guy hanging out with George Bush”.
Corbyn has gained supported from various celebrity figures since becoming leader of the Labour Party last September. Brian Eno has rallied in support of the MP for Islington North while Billy Bragg recently invited Corbyn to speak at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Noel Gallagher, however, recently dismissed Corbyn, quipping “I don’t like communism.”
