Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson didn’t take kindly to Busted’s Charlie Simpson criticising ‘Jumanji’

The actor and former wrestler made his feelings known on Twitter

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has hit back at Busted‘s Charlie Simpson after the musician criticised the recent Jumanji reboot.

Johnson starred in the film alongside Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Jack Black, and more. It was released in December 2017.

The actor and former wrestler shared the news that a sequel to Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle will arrive in cinemas on December 13, 2019. “The game is not over…” he wrote. “And I get to slap @KevinHart4Real’s lips into next week. The world is once again VERY happy.”

Simpson replied to the tweet, tagging his bandmate Matt Willis in his response. “Oh dear… I wonder if it will be the second worst film ever made?? @mattjwillis.” Johnson noticed the comment and laid down a challenge for the Busted star.

“Haha I have a fun idea – how bout you watch it with us and tell us your thoughts,” he wrote. “Then we listen to your music and we’ll tell you ours. You know, face to face like real men do instead of yapping on Twitter.”

Simpson ducked out of the challenge, responding: “Haha sorry to disappoint but I don’t do Twitter ‘beef’, it’s lame. I actually think @TheRock seems like a really rad dude. Just wasn’t a fan of the movie. Subjective opinions and all that. Respect none the less.”

Earlier this year, Johnson opened up about his battle with depression. “Struggle and pain is real,” he told The Express. “I was devastated and depressed. I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.”
