Ferris Bueller sequel on the cards?

Teen movie fans delighted after ten second teaser released online

Matthew Broderick is set to reprise his role as Ferris Bueller for an advert to be shown at next week’s Super Bowl.

A mysterious ten-second teaser video has been posted online, which you can watch by scrolling down. And the actor is clearly referencing his role in cult 1986 teen comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Opening his curtains, Broderick echoes his famous character, saying: “How can I handle work on a day like today?” before the film’s familiar theme music crashes in. The screen then flashes up the date of the Super Bowl XLVI next Sunday (February 5).

The video has so far been viewed a million times, stirring hysteria in fans. Some are even speculating that a follow-up movie could even be in the works, although it seems more likely that the clip will be an advert for an unknown brand.

The caption on the video reads: “We hate to be such a tease, but on a day like today, we just have to. Stick it out until the Super Bowl, or take a ‘day off’ on Monday and catch the big reveal.”

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off saw the character skipping school and spending the day in downtown Chicago, with calamitous consequences. It co-starred Jennifer Grey and Jeffrey Jones.

Madonna is to premiere her new single ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’ at the Super Bowl, and it has been reported that she will be joined onstage by LMFAO.
