Matthew Broderick parodies iconic character for car commercial…
The Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Super Bowl advert which sees Matthew Broderick parody his role as the teen-movie icon has surfaced online – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.
Rather than reprising his role as Bueller, however, Broderick plays himself as he fakes an illness to avoid a day of filming at a movie studio and instead visits a theme park, a museum and a race track. The clip is being used as an advertisement for car company Honda’s new CR-V model.
After a 10-second teaser of the advert was posted online last week (January 27), the video was viewed a million times and stirred hysteria in fans, with some even speculating that a sequel to the original film could be in the work.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off saw the character skipping school and spending the day in downtown Chicago, with calamitous consequences. It co-starred Jennifer Grey and Jeffrey Jones.
Madonna is also expected to premiere material from her new album ‘MDNA’ at the Super Bowl, and it has been reported that she will be joined onstage by LMFAO.
