Fifty Shades Of Grey was the big winner at last night’s Razzie Awards, the annual ceremony rewarding the worst of Hollywood.
Held in Los Angeles the night before the Oscars, the Razzies have recognised bad Hollywood film-making since 1981, when they were founded by publicist John J.B. Wilson as a spoof of the Oscars.
With six nominations heading into the awards, Fifty Shades… walked away with five Razzies including Worst screen combo for lead actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. Both Dornan and Johnson won the respective Worst actor and actress categories while Worst Picture was shared between the EL James adaptation and comic book flop Fantastic Four.
Other winners on the night included Oscar nominee Eddie Redmayne for his supporting role in Jupiter Ascending and Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco who appeared in both Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip and The Wedding Ringer.
The Razzie Redeemer Award, which recognises stars who have gone from zero to hero over the past 12 months, was awarded to Sylvester Stallone for his performance in Creed. The award was based on his transition from a spate of recent Razzie nominated roles to a credible performance.
