First ever Instagram trailer is for Ashton Kutcher’s Steve Jobs biopic – watch

15-second teaser for 'Jobs' is surprisingly effective

The first ever Instagram film trailer has been released – and it’s for the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher.

The trailer is short, just 15 seconds from start to finish, but surprisingly effective. “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do,” Kutcher’s voiceover intones at the end. Scroll down and click ‘play’ to give it a watch.

The film is being billed as “the story of Steve Jobs‘ ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century”. Simply titled Jobs, it follows the late Apple CEO over three decades from 1971 to 2000. Jobs died in October 2011 of complications arising from pancreatic cancer.

Josh Gad co-stars as Jobs’ Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, while the cast also includes Dermot Mulroney, James Woods and Matthew Modine.

Director Joshua Michael Stern shot part of the film in the historic garage in Palo Alto, California where Jobs and Wozniak started Apple in 1976. The film’s script was penned by newbie screenwriter Matt Whiteley.

Jobs was originally scheduled to open in US cinemas on April 19 to mark the 37th anniversary of the founding of Apple, but its release was later delayed to give the distributors more time to “create buzz”. It’s now due out in the US on August 16, though the UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
