You can watch the short teaser, which sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) confronting his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), by scrolling down the page and clicking on ‘play’.
According to Marvel’s official synopsis for the film, “a vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness” and it falls on Hemsworth’s hammer-wielding hero to stop him. The action-packed movie opens in UK cinemas on October 30 before getting a US release on November 8.
Game Of Thrones director Alan Taylor filmed the sequel to 2011’s Thor, which was directed by Kenneth Branagh, late last year in England and Iceland. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba have all reprised their roles from the first Thor film, which grossed a shade under $450 million (£290 million) at cinemas worldwide. Meanwhile, former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston has joined the cast and plays a supervillain called Malekith the Accursed.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Joss Whedon rewrote several scenes for the movie. The writer-director of The Avengers, was apparently “airlifted in” when filming on the Thor sequel hit a snag last year (2012).
