The first teaser trailer for A Good Day To Die Hard has been unveiled.
The minute-long clip shows Bruce Willis in his first appearance as John McClane in five years – scroll down to watch it.
Willis first played McClane, a no-nonsense New York City cop, in the 1988 action classic Die Hard. He has reprised the role in previous three sequels: 1990’s Die Hard 2, 1995’s Die Hard With A Vengeance and 2007’s Live Free And Die Hard.
The new movie follows McClane and his son, played by Spartacus actor Jai Courtney, as they battle terrorist forces in Russia. The cast also includes Sebastian Koch and Cole Hauser as villains and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as McClane’s daughter Lucy.
Meanwhile, Irishman John Moore takes over the director’s chair from Brit Len Wiseman, who helmed the franchise’s last instalment. A Good Day To Die Hard has a script by Skip Woods, whose previous credits include X-Men Origins: Wolverine and GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra
The film, which is unlikely to prove terribly romantic, will open in cinemas next Valentine’s Day (2013). The trailer references this release date with its tagline: “February 14th is a good day to die hard.”
