“F**k Trump!”: Watch Robert DeNiro’s stinging attack at the Tony Awards

"It's no longer down with Trump, it's fuck Trump!"

Robert DeNiro launched a stinging attack against Donald Trump at the Tony Awards last night, dropping the F-bomb twice within a matter of seconds.

As he took to the stage in New York to introduce a performance by Bruce Springsteen, the Oscar winning screen icon began a furious attack on the US President.

“I’m gonna say one thing. Fuck Trump!”, DeNiro began to huge applause from the crowd at the Radio City Music Hall.

Responding to the huge applause, DeNiro defiantly stretched out his arms before continuing with his message.

“It’s no longer down with Trump, it’s fuck Trump!”, he told the crowd.

But while the verbal attack received huge praise within the room, some of Trump’s online supporters were quick to condemn DeNiro.

“Inarticulate, Low IQ Robert DeNiro screams ‘F— Trump’ on The Tony Awards and gets a standing ovation. Nothing helps Pres Trump’s popularity more then having the pompous, very elitist Broadway crowd boo him”, radio host Mark Simone wrote.

Defending DeNiro, another said: “Want to criticize Robert DeNiro? When you help put a vulgar perv like Trump in the White House you can expect a vulgar response from America.”

Springsteen, meanwhile, was in attendance to perform ‘My Hometown’, taken from the Tony-winning Springsteen on Broadway.
