Speaking previously about her casting, director Zack Snyder said: “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Snyder will start shooting Batman Vs Superman in Michigan later this year. Alongside Cavill, Affleck and Gadot, Amy Adams is confirmed to be returning as Lois Lane and her Man Of Steel castmates Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne have also inked deals to reprise their roles. The film – whose official title has yet to be confirmed – will now be released in 2016.
