‘Game Of Thrones” Kit Harington in talks for ‘Pompeii’

The star is in discussions to appear in the Paul WS Anderson film

Game Of Thrones‘ Kit Harington is reportedly in talks to star in Pompeii.

According to Variety, Harington is currently in negotiations to appear in the film, which chronicles the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, helmed by Resident Evil and Death Race director Paul WS Anderson.

If talks are successful, Harington will play Milo, a young slave who dreams of one day being able to buy his freedom from his shipping master and marry his master’s daughter. When Mount Vesuvius erupts, it is up to him to save the love of his life and his gladiator best friend from certain death.

The Constantin film has been written by Batman Forever writer Lee Batchler and Janet Scott Batchler. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes has revised the script.

Harington, who plays Jon Snow in HBO’s Game Of Thrones, recently starred in Silent Hill: Revelation and will soon be seen starring alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in The Seventh Son.

The actor also voices a villainous warrior in the up-coming How To Train Your Dragon 2.The sequel is written and directed by Dean DeBlois, who co-directed the first film with Chris Sanders and co-wrote its screenplay with Sanders and Will Davies.

How to Train Your Dragon, based on the popular series of children’s novels by British author Cressida Cowell, was released in 2010 and grossed nearly $500 million worldwide. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the following year’s Oscars, but lost to Toy Story 3. The sequel is currently scheduled for release on June 20, 2014.
