‘Game Of Thrones’ star Maisie Williams: ‘Arya is getting beat to shit in season six’

Meanwhile, Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner says her character is 'stronger' in the new season

Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams has revealed that the new season is “very difficult” for her character Arya Stark, who is “getting beat to shit” during the new season.

Season six of the fantasy drama began last night (April 24) and according to Williams, it finds Arya Stark “back to square one”.

“There’s definitely a spark in Arya, and Jaqen has a soft spot for her, but she is now being watched very, very closely,” Williams told Vulture.

“She’s definitely not being trusted as she was before,” Williams continued. “This year is very difficult for her, because she’s being reminded, ‘You messed up.’ She’s not getting off lightly. After our first episode, that’s a lot of what we’re going to be seeing this year, is Arya getting beat to shit.”

Meanwhile, Williams’ co-star Sophie Turner said her character Sansa Stark is “stronger” in the new season, explaining that she builds up allies including Brienne of Tarth who help her to “get what she wants, go where she wants, and do what she wants”.

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss previously promised that S6 is “the best yet” and contains the biggest battle scene to date.

A number of spoilers have leaked ahead of S6, most recently when Ian McShane talked about the fate of his character after joining the cast for the new episodes.
