George Clooney plays a genius inventor in the first trailer for Disney’s sci-fi mystery adventure Tomorrowland.
The latest film from Brad Bird, director of The Incredibles and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, will be released in cinemas on May 22, 2015.
In the trailer, Clooney’s inventor Frank Walker invites wayward teen Casey (Britt Robertson) to come with him on a journey to a special place: “What if there is a place… A secret place, where nothing is impossible? A miraculous place where you could actually change the world?”
This is what the film’s synopsis reveals: “Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as Tomorrowland.”
Written by Lost scribe Damon Lindelof, the film also stars Hugh Laurie, Kathryn Hahn, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer and Keegan-Michael Key. Watch the first trailer for Tomorrowland below.
