Actor recreates incident as Obelix
French actor Gerard Deperdieu has made light of his recent ‘accident’ on an Air France plane.
In a video posted on YouTube, which you can view below, Depardieu appears in full costume as cartoon character Obelix seated at the front of a plane.
As the plane nears take-off, the voice explains that nobody can eat until take-off. Depardieu as Obelix doesn’t heed the advice and makes a ‘mess’ of the food on offer. The plane is delayed while the air crew clean it up.
The video also spoofs how quickly the other passengers contacted the media to detail the unfortunate incident.
The actor, most famous for his role as Cyrano de Bergerac for which he earned a Best Actor Oscar nomination, has since apologised for urinating on the Air France flight.
Depardieu’s accident went viral quickly, with video of CNN reporter Anderson Cooper failing to report the story without constantly laughing.
Gerard Depardieu is currently filming the new Asterix And Obelix film, Asterix And Obelix: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It is due for release in 2012.
