Guy Pearce calls Kevin Spacey a “handsy guy”

The actor made the remarks during an interview which aired on Australian TV this week

Guy Pearce has described Kevin Spacey as a “handsy guy” in an interview in which he recalled his experience of working with the under-fire Spacey.

Spacey was accused last year of making sexual advances towards Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp when he was 14, with over 30 men coming forward with similar allegations against Spacey afterwards. In two separate statements, Spacey initially said that he did not recall the incident with Rapp, before later stating that he was “taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment”.

Pearce gave the description of Spacey during an appearance on the Australian chat show Interview yesterday (July 3), which is hosted by Andrew Denton. Pearce, who worked with Spacey on the 1997 film LA Confidential, initially said that the numerous allegations which have been made against Spacey were a “tough one to talk about at the moment.”

“Amazing actor; incredible actor. Mmm. Slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah,” he said, before adding: “He’s a handsy guy.”

Pearce then said: “Thankfully, I was 29 and not 14.”

It was reported yesterday that Spacey is now being investigated by London police for three new sexual assault claims.

The actor has not yet commented on the new claims or the ongoing investigation.
