Actor has already seen J.J. Abrams' 'The Force Awakens' and says it's a 'real big movie'
Harrison Ford appears to have dropped a significant Star Wars plot spoiler during a Twitter Q&A over the weekend.
Asked to name his favourite scene from The Force Awakens, the Han Solo actor responded: “The sword fight with Rey and Kilo Ren. Fantastic visual storytelling.”
Fans are now speculating that Rey, a new character played by Daisy Ridley who has been described as a “scavenger”, will wield a lightsaber in J.J. Abrams’ film. “Kilo Ren” presumably refers to Kylo Ren, the masked villain played by Girls actor Adam Driver.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in UK cinemas on December 17 and in the US a day later. The Motion Picture Association of America has recently given J.J. Abrams’ film a PG-13 rating based on its “sci-fi action violence”, which makes it only the second Star Wars film not to be rated PG.
The story takes place 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jed but specific plot details are being kept tightly under wraps. The film’s script was penned by director J.J. Abrams, Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt and Star Wars franchise veteran Lawrence Kasdan.
Alongside the returning trio of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, the film’s cast includes Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o and Andy Serkis. Ford recently confirmed that he has already seen the film, calling it “wonderful” and “a real big movie”.
