Harrison Ford on board for ‘The Expendables 3’, Sly Stallone says

Stallone tweets that Ford is 'in', but Bruce Willis is 'out'

Harrison Ford has signed up for The Expendables 3, according to Sylvester Stallone.

Stallone broke the news excitably on Twitter last night (August 6) while also revealing that Bruce Willis won’t be returning for the third instalment of his golden oldies franchise.

Ford will join a confirmed cast that currently includes Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Twilight beefcake Kellan Lutz, boxer Victor Ortiz and Olympic judo medallist Ronda Rousey.

Other big names linked to the movie include Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Milla Jovovich and Mel Gibson, who’s apparently in the frame to play the main villain, though none of these actors is officially signed up yet.

The Expendables 3 is due to start shooting shortly with up-and-coming Aussie filmmaker Patrick Hughes in the director’s chair. Stallone co-wrote the script with Richard Wenk, who was also his screenwriting partner on last year’s The Expendables 2. Distributors Lionsgate have set a release date of August 15, 2014.
