Grint predicts a bleak future for his character Ron Weasley
Harry Potter‘s Rupert Grint has suggested that Ron Weasley’s relationship with Hermione Granger would be unlikely to last the distance.
Grint’s Ron and Emma Watson’s Hermione are together when J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter saga comes to an end, but the actor has predicted divorce for the couple further down the line.
Asked what he thinks happens to Ron after the novels conclude, Grint told The Huffington Post: “I would expect Ron has probably divorced Hermione already. I don’t think that relationship would have done very well.”
Grint then said of Ron’s future: “He’s living on his own, in a little one-bedroom apartment. He hasn’t got a job”, to which Matthew Lewis, the actor who played Neville Longbottom, added jokingly: “[Ron’s] living in a one-bedroom studio apartment all alone, doing nothing. He lives in Kings Cross, right in that area.”
Meanwhile, Grint recently revealed that he found his infamous “kissing scene” with Emma Watson in the final Harry Potter film a “surreal” experience.
“I’ve known Emma since she was literally 9 years old and we had this very brother-sister relationship. And it just felt very surreal,” he recalled. “I have a memory of her face getting closer and closer. Like, ‘Oh my God.’ I can’t really remember anything apart from that.”
