JK Rowling's official YouTube announcement expected at noon
The new Harry Potter project, ‘Pottermore’, due to be unveiled by JK Rowling at midday today (June 23), was thought to be an online game which leads to a real-life treasure hunt.
As reported by The Guardian, Pottermore was believed to be “an online game that gives users clues which will lead them to prizes hidden in the real world”.
The leak, via PR company Adam And Eve, had been interpreted by many news outlets as an indication that the world of Harry Potter will live on in an online game.
But PR spokeswoman Rebecca Salt has already disputed these theories, stating: “The British press have been very imaginative in their interpretation of the document, but I can categorically say the project is not a treasure hunt or a game.”
Last week Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, stated that he hoped the announcement didn’t mean further adventures for his character.
Speaking about what the secret project may be, Daniel Radcliffe said: “As long as they don’t involve Harry, I’m quite happy to buy them.”
All will be revealed at midday (June 23) when Rowling makes her announcement via YouTube.
The final film Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part Two is due for UK release on July 14.
