'Queen' actress plays Dean Hardscrabble in Pixar's upcoming sequel
Helen Mirren has delivered “a message from the Dean” in a new trailer for Monsters University – you can watch it by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking ‘play’.
The Queen actress plays Dean Hardscrabble in Pixar’s upcoming sequel to their 2001 hit animated film Monsters, Inc. The trailer is styled similar to a university’s admission video for prospective alumni.
Set 10 years before the original title, the film promises to investigate the relationship between Sulley (John Goodman) and Mike (Billy Crystal), and show viewers inside their life as they attend university. Although the pair go on to be best friends – this isn’t a plot spoiler, we know that already from Monsters, Inc – they began their relationship as enemies, with both competing to earn a place in the scare programme.
However, after they both fail to gain entry to the prestigious scare programme, they must work together to find a way to gain acceptance. What follows is a college caper movie where new friendships are formed and enemies are made.
Monsters University arrives in UK cinemas on July 12.
