‘Heroes’ star Greg Grunberg to return for ‘Heroes Reborn’ mini-series

Grunberg played mind-reading cop Matt Parkman in the original NBC series

Original Heroes star Greg Grunberg has joined the cast of the Heroes Reborn mini-series.

Grunberg, who played mind-reading cop Matt Parkman in the original show, is the fourth Heroes veteran to sign up for the forthcoming mini-series, following Jack Coleman’s Noah Bennet/HRG, Jimmy Jean-Louis’ ‘The Haitian’ and Masi Oka’s Hiro Nakamura.

New cast members for Heroes Reborn, which will air on NBC this autumn, include Chuck‘s Zachary Levi, Step Up‘s Ryan Guzman and Once Upon A Time‘s Robbie Kay. Grunberg will appear in a “guest arc” as opposed to a main role, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Created by Tim Kring, the original Heroes ran for four seasons on NBC between 2006 and 2010. Kring is also steering the new mini-series as show-runner and keeping storyline details tightly under wraps.
