‘X-Men’ stars Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart reunite for “father and son reunion”

Pair recently met up for dinner

X-Men stars Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart reunited this week for what they called a “father and son reunion”.

Both actors have appeared in X-Men movies since 2000, with Jackman portraying Wolverine and Stewart playing Professor Charles Xavier.

Jackman uploaded a photo of the pair having dinner together this week, along with the caption: “Father and son reunion. @sirpatstew #Logan #Charles #wolverine”. See that beneath.

Hugh Jackman played Wolverine for the last time in Logan, released earlier this year. Stewart starred alongside Jackman in the film.

Earlier this year, Stewart announced that he would be retiring from X-Men franchise too and that his decision came after watching Logan with Jackman.

He said: “I was so moved by it, much more moved than I had been the first time of seeing it. At one point [Hugh] reached out, and he took my hand in those last few minutes, and I saw him go [wipes tear from eye] like this, and then I realised I had just done the same thing.”

“Then, the movie ended… and we were going to be taken up on stage, but not until the credits were over. So, we had some time to sit there and, as I sat there I realised there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.'”
