Iggy Azalea has said that acting in the forthcoming Fast & Furious sequel gave her a new found “appreciation” for actors.
The Australian artist, who has earned big hits in 2014 with her single ‘Fancy’ and Ariana Grande collaboration ‘Problem’, will appear in the latest installment of the long running Vin Diesel franchise when it opens in cinemas next year. Fellow pop star Rita Ora previously made cameo appearance in Fast & Furious 6.
Speaking to Access Hollywood about her role in the film, Azalea said: “I thought that I was just going to have to wave the flag. And then, I came [to set] and I got a car and I got some lines and then [my character is] friends with Vin. I’m kind of the head of this monster truck crew of people, and I’m like the girl in charge and I have this big truck.”
“I’m still scared of acting,” she added. “It makes me very nervous, because I don’t want to be one of those artists that exerts themselves and they don’t do a good job. I don’t want to do that, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have an amazing time on set… It’s really fun to play a character.
“Just for me to say two lines it took like 16 hours of setting up and going over, and I definitely have an appreciation for actors now.”
The trailer for the forthcoming Fast & Furious 7 was revealed at a fan event live streamed around the world on November 1.
Furious & Furious 7 will open in the UK on April 3, 2015 and features starring roles for Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges and Jason Statham.
