Blood Orange, the Ibiza-set thriller film starring Iggy Pop, will open in UK cinemas within the next three months.
Distributors Metronome have acquired the UK rights to the film and plan to release it in April or May to coincide with the punk icon’s world tour, ScreenDaily reports.
Iggy Pop has a lead role in the film as a rock ‘n’ roll legend with a beautiful young wife whose idyllic Mediterranean lifestyle is interrupted when her vengeful ex-boyfriend arrives on the island. Blood Orangealso stars Divergent actor Ben Lamb and The Inbetweeners‘ Kacey Barnfield.

Director Toby Tobias has hailed the singer as a “consummate professional” on set and even revealed that he rescued an injured stray cat during shooting.
“The film really hinges on his character,” Tobias told Metro last year. “He’s the man with the plan and his combination of deep cool and natural charisma really shines through on camera.”
Iggy Pop’s previous acting credits include supporting roles in the films Tank Girl, Cry-Baby and Sid And Nancy, as well as TV appearances on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and American Dad!.
He releases new album ‘Post Pop Depression’ on March 18 and plays a headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 13.
