J.K. Rowling had the best response to one of her critics on Twitter, hitting back with lyrics from rapper Chamillionaire.
The Harry Potter author leapt into action after Scottish writer Kevin Williamson wrote to Glasgow MP Natalie McGarry saying she shouldn’t apologise to a tweet directed at Rowling.
According to The Mirror, in January, McGarry accused Rowling of “defending abusive, misogynist trolls” on the social-networking site, with Rowling writing back: “I’d love an explanation of this accusation, Natalie.”

McGarry has since apologised on Twitter for her comments, writing: “The particular screen grab from JK Rowling didn’t give the correct context to her relationship with a tweeter, so for that, I apologise.”
Upon seeing her tweet, Williamson replied: “Why apologise to her. She uses her obscene wealth & lawyer droids to threaten & bully. Tell the radge to bolt.”
After seeing his post, Rowling – who is well-known for shutting down trolls with her witty replies – quoted a line from Chamillionaire’s hit song, ‘Ridin”… with a twist.
She tweeted:
They see me Rowlin'
They hatin' https://t.co/dfiqou7vpD— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) February 17, 2016
Her response did not go unnoticed by Chamillionaire himself, with the rapper responding: “I was gonna remix your tweet to “We see them trollin” but you already took home the Grammy. Touche.”

The news comes after Rowling took down Donald Trump’s spokesperson Katrina Pierson on Twitter last month, likening her to the Death Eaters from her Harry Potter novels.
