Popular Channel 4 sitcom will return after more than two years in early 2016

Jack Whitehall has confirmed that Fresh Meat will return in the New Year.

Series four of the popular Channel 4 sitcom will begin on Tuesday, January 5, the actor announced on Twitter this afternoon.

The show’s cast includes also includes Joe Thomas from The Inbetweeners and Call The Midwife‘s Charlotte Ritchie.

Series four will feature the first new episodes of Fresh Meat in more than two years. Series three aired in autumn 2013, following on from series one in 2011 and series two in 2012.

Last year, Sam Bain revealed that he and Armstrong were “working on a couple of ideas” for a possible Fresh Meat film, with a representative for the production company behind the series adding: “Plans for a movie version of Fresh Meat are under discussion but they’re still at a very early stage.”
