‘Jackass’ actor Johnny Knoxville for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ reboot

Tony Shalhoub also confirmed as voice of Splinter

Jackass actor Johnny Knoxville has joined the cast of the forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot.

As Deadline reports, Knoxville will provide the voice of Leonardo, one of the pizza-loving and crime-fighting amphibians. Tony Shalhoub, meanwhile, has also joined the cast and will be lending his voice to the wise rat Splinter.

Megan Fox is on board to play reporter April O’Neil, with other names attached to the project including Arrested Development actor Will Arnett and William Fichtner as Shredder. The film, which is directed by Wrath Of The Titans‘ Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Transformers mastermind Michael Bay, will see the popular crime-fighting team embark on their first big-screen outing since 2007’s CGI-animated TMNT.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise was hugely popular in the ’80s and ’90s and, in addition to spawning a TV series, also produced a trilogy of films with 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret Of The Ooze and 1997’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III.
