James Corden joins cast of Britpop movie ‘Kill Your Friends’

'Gavin And Stacey' actor will star with Nicholas Hoult in screen adaptation of novel

James Corden has joined the cast of the film adaptation of Britpop novel Kill Your Friends, according to reports.

Empire reports that the Gavin & Stacey actor is the latest name to join the film adaptation of author John Niven’s novel. Skins star Nicholas Hoult is set to take on the lead role of A&R man Steven Stelfox, with Owen Harris (Misfits, Black Mirror) set to direct.

Former A&R man Niven’s 2008 novel was based on his own experiences in the British music industry in the 1990s. Robert Pattinson had previously expressed an interest in playing the lead role in a possible adaptation of Niven’s first novel, and Rafe Spall was later rumoured to be taking on the role of Stelfox.

Submarine actor Craig Roberts, Tom Riley, Edward Hogg and Georgia King have all also signed up to star in the picture, with filming set to begin later this month.
