'Mad Men' actress won't be reprising her role as Emma Frost from 2011's 'X-Men: First Class'
January Jones has confirmed she will not be appearing in the new X-Men movie.
The Mad Men actress appeared as Emma Frost, a mutant with telepathic abilities, in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. However, she won’t be reprising her role in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which begins shooting this month (April 2013).
When asked about the sequel by Collider, Jones replied: “I haven’t been asked back. It’s called Days Of Future Past or something. No, they’re going into another time period, or they’re going back and forth from different time period and Emma’s not in that. Not in what they’re doing.”
Although Jones won’t be returning, director Bryan Singer has reunited X-Men stars old and new for Days Of Future Past. Last November, he announced that the film has roles for X-Men veterans Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as well as First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine also has a confirmed role and Halle Berry, Ellen Page and Anna are officially on board too. Meanwhile, Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is a brand new addition to the cast and will play the film’s main villain. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 18, 2014.
