Jared Leto’s Joker takes centre stage in unseen international ‘Suicide Squad’ trailer

DC blockbuster is due for release in the summer

Fans of The Joker and Jared Leto have been treated to more of his take on the classic comic book character in a brand new international trailer for Suicide Squad.

Alongside plenty of new, unseen footage of The Joker, the international trailer also features Katana (Karen Fukuhara) and Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) causing enough havoc for Squad leader Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) to complain: “Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people?”

“We’re bad guys. It’s what we do,” Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) replies. Check out the trailer below:

Suicide Squad director David Ayer recently claimed that Jared Leto’s take on The Joker is so captivating, it even halted work on the film’s set.

In October Leto’s Suicide Squad co-star Will Smith revealed that he has never spoken to the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman out of character because he was “all in” as the Joker during filming.

Last summer it was reported that Leto had showered his Suicide Squad cast-mates with unusual gifts including a dead hog, a live rat and bullets.

Leto himself has memorably described portraying The Joker as “like giving birth out of my prickhole”.

Suicide Squad, which also stars Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman and Cara Delevingne, opens in cinemas on August 5.
