Katniss will lead the rebellion in 'Mockingjay Part 1' in cinemas November 20
Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen returns to District 12 to witness the devastation wrought by the Capitol in the latest trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Part 1.
The film is released in cinemas November 20. In the new teaser, soundtracked by Lorde’s ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’, a voice over warns: “She won’t be able to handle it. The games destroyed her.”
The film’s synopsis has revealed Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen “will lead the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol” ruled by President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel by Suzanne Collins the first two films have taken almost £1bn at the global box office. Lorde will be curating the music for the next instalment.
Also starring Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final role as Plutarch Heavensbee and Julianne Moore as Alma Coin, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 reaches UK cinemas November 20 with Part 2 set to open in November next year. Watch the new trailer below.
