Eagerly-anticipated sequel has its world premiere in London on November 11
The final trailer for next month’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been released. Watch the minute-long teaser focusing on Jennifer Lawrence‘s Katniss below.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the sequel to last year’s The Hunger Games, an adaptation of the first novel in a trilogy by author Suzanne Collins. The film grossed close to $700 million (£450million) worldwide, becoming the ninth highest earner of 2012.
Lawrence is joined in Catching Fire by fellow returning cast members Donald Sutherland, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz. Meanwhile, new additions to the cast for the sequel include Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee, and Sam Claflin, whose character Finnick Odair is a potential love interest for Lawrence’s Katniss.
Makers Lionsgate have recently announced that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will have its world premiere in London on November 11 before the film opens in cinemas worldwide on November 22.
Suzanne Collins’ third and final Hunger Games novel, Mockingjay, is being split into two separate films, which are set for release in November 2014 and November 2015. Julianne Moore has joined the cast for the final two movies and will play ruthless leader President Alma Coin.
