Jennifer Lopez joins Jason Statham in new thriller ‘Parker’

Nick Nolte also added to adaptation of Donald Westlake book 'Flashfire'

Jennifer Lopez and Nick Nolte have joined Jason Statham in forthcoming noir thriller Parker.

The singer/actress will play a real estate agent, while Nolte will be a mentor to Statham’s title character in the movie, which is an adaptation of Donald Westlake‘s 2000 book Flashfire.

Wendell Pierce, Clifton Collins Jr, Michael Chiklis, Patti LuPone and Emma Booth are also in the cast, according to The Taylor Hackford-directed film is due to be released on October 12, 2012.

Lopez returned from a three-year film hiatus last year with The Back-Up Plan, which wasn’t well received by critics.

After a similar break from the upper echelons of the chart in her music career, the 42-year-old scored her first UK Number One single in six years in April with ‘On The Floor’, a collaboration with rapper Pitbull.

Meanwhile, Statham is keeping up his action movie hit rate this year with lead roles in forthcoming thrillers Killer Elite and Safe slated for release before 2012.
