Jessica Biel pulls out of new ‘X-Men’ movie ‘The Wolverine’

Jessica Biel is no longer in negotiations to play the Viper in the next 'Wolverine' movie

Jessica Biel has pulled out of new X-Men film The Wolverine.

Last week (July 13), it was reported that Biel was in discussions to play a character called the Viper in the superhero movie, which is a sequel to 2009’s X Men Origins: Wolverine. However, according to Collider, negotiations between 20th Century Fox and the actress have now broken down.

Production on The Wolverine is scheduled to begin next month in Australia and Japan, with Hugh Jackman returning as Logan/Wolverine, a role he has played in five previous X-Men films. The sequel’s storyline is expected to involve Wolverine finding himself an outsider in Japan. Japanese actors Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima have all been cast in key roles.

The Wolverine is being directed by James Mangold, whose previous credits include Walk The Line, Girl, Interrupted and Knight And Day, with a script by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback. The film has a scheduled release date of July 26, 2013.

American actress Biel, 30, is best known for her roles in The A-Team, Valentine’s Day and I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry. She will next be seen in the remake of Total Recall, which is scheduled for release in the UK and US next month (August) – scroll down to watch a trailer.
