Jimmy Kimmel is taking this ‘Get Out’ star to the Oscars after he wasn’t invited

US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has offered an Oscars invite to Get Out star Lil Rel Howery, after he revealed that he wasn’t invited to the ceremony.

Kimmel, who will host the 90th Academy Awards in March, made the offer after Howery revealed that he wasn’t deemed important enough to attend.

Howery, who stars as TSA officer Rod Williams in the acclaimed horror movie, said: “We called and they’re looking for my ticket and they’re like ‘uh, you’re not in the first group’!

“The first tickets they give out, I’m not on that list!”

Kimmel responded: “Listen, I’ll get you in don’t worry – I’m the host of it. You had a big part in that movie. It’s not like you had a little scene.”

“I know, it’s weird”, Howery said.

“After that call, I went and YouTubed last year’s and counted both groups – the group that won and the group that thought they won. There was 20 people on that stage, so they get extra tickets!”

But if Kimmel’s offer doesn’t materialise, Howery also has an alternative in the form of an Oscars brunch hosted by Jay-Z.

Get Out cleaned up when the Oscars nominations were revealed earlier this week – picking up nods for Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Actor for Daniel Kaluuya.
