Star Wars actor John Boyega has revealed that he’s held talks with Marvel bosses about a potential role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Boyega, best known for his role as Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, revealed the surprise talks during an appearance at AwesomeCon over the weekend.
The moment in question came when a fan asked if Boyega was open to the prospect of portraying Marvel’s iconic vampire hunter Blade – famously portrayed by Wesley Snipes.

As it happens, he thinks that the chance to portray Blade would be akin to a “spit in the face of Wesley [Snipes]”, although he divulged that “meetings with Marvel about potentially taking on a Marvel superhero” HAVE taken place.
At present, it isn’t clear what role Boyega would take in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Last year, Boyega also starred in civil rights thriller Detroit, and explained how the movie provided a vital lesson from history.
“This movie is no longer an escape from our reality – it’s an in-depth look at it. You go outside and hear the same things are still going down. You watch Detroit knowing there’s a part for you to play right now. It’s not a film where all that injustice is ended and done, it’s asking you: what’s your role in this? I’ve questioned myself on that and understand I’ve failed at meeting those responsibilities, even just in clarifying it’s not a responsibility for me to shoulder”, he told NME.
