'Finding Neverland' star developing biopic of children's writer
Johnny Depp is planning to bring Dr Seuss to life in a new live-action biopic.
The author, real name Theodor Seuss Geisel, is best known for his children’s books including How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, Horton Hears A Who! and The Cat In The Hat, which have all been made into film adaptations.
It’ll be the second notable children’s author Depp has played on the big screen, having starred as Peter Pan-creator JM Barrie in Finding Neverland.
Depp has agreed to co-produce the eventual biopic via his Infinitum Nihil company and Keith Bunin has been hired to write the script.
The books of Dr Seuss, who died in 1991, have sold more than 200million copies around the world.
