Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ new trailer released – watch

'The Avengers' director takes on William Shakespeare's classic play

A new trailer for Joss Whedon‘s Much Ado About Nothing has been released – you can watch it by scrolling down the page and clicking ‘play’.

His movie version of the much-loved Shakespeare play will open in cinemas on June 7. It was adapted, directed and produced by Whedon, who is best known as the creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and creative force behind The Avengers.

Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing is said to offer a contemporary take on the classic comedy, though it still uses Shakespeare’s original text. Whedon shot the film in black-and-white over just 12 days.

The cast features no A-list names, but includes several actors familiar from previous Whedon projects, including Angel‘s Amy Acker, Clark Gregg from The Avengers, and Buffy alumni Alexis Denisof and Tom Lenk.

Meanwhile, Whedon is currently working on The Avengers 2. Marvel has slated the follow-up to last year’s hugely successful The Avengers for release on May 1, 2015 and Whedon recently insisted his sequel is “in really good shape”.
