Justin Bieber hints he is up for Robin role in Batman v Superman movie

Pop singer posts a picture of himself with what appears to be the film's script on Instagram

Justin Bieber appears to have dropped a hint that he is reading for a role in the forthcoming Batman v Superman movie.

The pop singer posted a picture of himself with what looks like the film’s script on Instagram last night (September 13). Bieber gave the image the caption “#robin ??”, fuelling speculation that he could be up for the part of Batman’s sidekick.

Bieber is known to be a Batman fan and was snapped wearing a Batman mask when he went to see The Dark Knight Rises at the cinema last year (2012). His limited acting experience to date includes a two-episode stint on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2010-11 and a guest spot on The Simpsons earlier this year.

Ben Affleck signed up last month (August) to play Batman opposite Henry Cavill‘s Superman in the forthcoming sequel to this year’s Man Of Steel. Plot details are currently unknown but director Zack Snyder has hinted that the two superheroes will not see eye to eye, earning the movie the nickname “Batman v Superman”.

Some fans disagreed with the casting of Affleck as Batman and an online petition to remove him from the role has collected over 90,000 signatures.

Meanwhile, it’s recently been announced that Snyder will start shooting the so-called “Batman v Superman” movie in Michigan early next year (2014). Alongside Cavill as Superman and Affleck as Batman, Amy Adams is confirmed to be returning as Lois Lane and her Man Of Steel castmates Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne have also inked deals to reprise their roles. Warner Bros has given the film a release date of July 17, 2015.
