Recent reboot received backlash from the critics
Fantastic Four star Kate Mara has revealed that she ‘would be really happy’ to return for Fantastic Four 2.
Fantastic Four was released last summer and received a backlash of bad reviews from critics as well as poor box office results. It also starred Michael B Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell.
Speaking to IGN, Mara said that she would like to be involved in a sequel, if it were to happen. “Oh yeah, I’d love to be a part of a Fantastic Four sequel or whatever they may or may not have in store for us,” she said.
“I know that all of the guys feel the same way, we love working with each other and we would love to actually play these characters in another way somehow in the future,” she continued. “I have no idea if that’s actually true, if that will happen, but I would be really happy to do it.”
Earlier this year, Miles Teller opened up about the Fantastic Four reboot, blaming a bad script for the film’s poor reception. Speaking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Teller – who played Mr Fantastic in the movie – commented: “I think it was Clooney who said you can make a bad movie out of a good script, you can’t make a good movie out of a bad script, and that’s very true.”
Producer and comic book writer Stan Lee also commented on the flop, telling chat show host Larry King: ”Because I didn’t have a cameo in it, and they didn’t discuss the story with me.”
